Financial aid for Gene Juarez Academy students

“I never thought I could afford to go to beauty school, but the Advisors worked with me to make it a possibility.” –Nadia, Student Ambassador, North Seattle

Paying for Cosmetology School

The advisors at Gene Juarez Academy make it easy to find and apply for financial aid that best fits your needs and eligibility. And, because we're nationally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS), you have the ability to apply for Federal & State funding to help cover the costs of the cosmetology program.

Financial options available include: federal grants (which do not have to be repaid), low-cost federal loans (with payments beginning after you have been out of school for six months), state funding, flexible payment plans and scholarships. Our advisors can help determine what you qualify for and help you through the process.

Net Price Calculator

The Net Price Calculator was designed by the US Department of Education to give GJ Academy applicants a better idea of what other students in similar situations have paid after receiving Federal, State, local government and institutional grants and scholarships.

By figuring costs this way, they add in average living expenses such as rent, food, transportation and personal expenses.

Currently the tuition, kit and fees for attending Gene Juarez Academy is $19,295.

Applying for Federal Financial Aid

Visit www.pin.ed.gov to apply for a pin #. Your pin # is used to log-in, sign and submit your FAFSA application. If you are a dependent student, a parent will need to apply for their own separate pin #.

Complete the free online application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

To complete the FAFSA, you will need your tax return. While completing the FAFSA, the option of an IRS link may be available to access your tax information. We recommend selecting this option.

If you are considered a dependent student (see the dependency status section of the FAFSA), you will also need your parents’ tax returns. Print the confirmation page once submitted.

List Gene Juarez Academy’s school code of 013926. The code is the same for both the North Seattle and South Seattle Academy locations.

Please bring a copy of your confirmation page or Student Aid Report (SAR) with you to your Financial Services appointment. Our Financial Services Advisor will use this information to help determine eligibility for Federal and State Aid. Gene Juarez Academy participates with several Federal and State funded programs and will thoroughly evaluate your application for all programs you may qualify for.

Depending on the program, additional information may be requested to determine eligibility. Our goal is to present you with the best plan possible.

We are here to help! If you have questions or need help completing your application, please contact us.
