Jacque enjoys the fresh perspective on the skills of the cosmetology industry that comes with each new generation of Gene Juarez students. She draws inspiration from helping others realize their potential as she develops the Gene Juarez educator curriculum. Her fondest memories are seeing her former students lead their own classes.

Michelle was inspired to become an educator because she loved cosmetology school at GJA so much. She enjoys witnessing the everyday successes of her student artists throughout their education. In an industry of change, Elena is happy to take her own advice to “never stop learning,” taking full advantage of Gene Juarez’s continuing employee education programs. Whether it’s preparing students for the State Board examination or assisting in clinics, Elena shows her strength for sharing what she knows with others.

Growing up, both of Katie's parents were teachers so it was natural for her to become and educator at GJA to inspire new learners as they grow & develop in the field of Cosmetology. Katie tells her students that it isn't just about doing hair but rather about the connection they make with their guests. "It's important to bring out your guest's inner beauty through your artistic abilities."

Lindsay loves to see all the light bulb moments! "There is no greater feeling as an educator when you know you have helped a student achieve their goals." Lindsay tells her students to be themselves and most importantly to have fun while in school.

Maria became an educator to help students with their personal and professional growth. Maria teaches technique, fashion, and philosophy. Each of her students are unique and she looks forward to her daily interaction with them. Miso was inspired by her GJA educators, especially Michelle, to become one herself. She finds being an educator the perfect balance between theory & doing hair. Miso tells new students to “always remember why you came to Gene Juarez Academy in the first place. You are striving to become the best. There is always something new to learn & experiences to enjoy while in school.”

Nicole likes to see the passion in her students — their enthusiasm and ideas — for the industry she loves. As a clinic educator, doing consultations with clients she sees firsthand the trials and successes of each student. Her advice to students: “Come to school every day!”

For Shawna, seeing her graduates grow into successful artists is her favorite part of being a Gene Juarez educator. Inspired by her former educators, Shawna enjoys helping students fine-tune their skills and problem-solve challenging situations. After all, “challenges are what make our lives interesting,” she says, “always focus on the positives.”

As a design instructor, Tierney is one of the first instructors met by Gene Juarez students. Her favorite part about her job is seeing the skill and personality of the students grow throughout the 13 months of training. Her advice to students: “No matter what you do with your life, be friendly to others, polite to each other, help others when needed, and most of all, have fun.”

Adrianna "Adri" Cruz

Adri has always been interested in learning new things & sharing them with people who have the same passion. "I love to see a student grasp a concept that I have taught them." She advises students to be creative, set no limits on what they can achieve, be open to new ideas and have fun!

Amanda became an educator because of her love for learning. "I have a passion for education." She advises students to perfect their skills before graduating & utilize their educators to help them because in 13 short months they will be VERY glad they did!

Danielle takes pride in the difference she makes in the future of every Gene Juarez student. As a Module 2 educator, she reminds her students that they “are a ‘day maker’ to everyone around them and to always put your whole heart into it.”

After spending five years working in the salon industry, Shea was ready to try something new and exciting. Becoming a cosmetology educator for GJA was very appealing to Shea because she loves helping people in an industry she is passionate about. Shea believes the key to a student's success is “staying focused on your goals and learn as much as you possibly can while in school.”
